Hi, I’m Tearsa, and I was raised on a farm.
A huge farm. A farm so big that, comparatively, Fox Farm Flowers might be considered nothing more than a garden.
I grew up, left the farm, and never thought I would look back. But plants have a way of waiting. Wherever I lived, I kept a garden, always making room for flowers simply because they were beautiful and alive with pollinators. One day, while cutting blooms from my own garden, an idea took hold that this could be more than a row of flowers--and that idea became Fox Farm Flowers.
What started out as a simple idea to grow flowers became a rabbit hole into soil microbiology, regenerative practices, native plant benefits, plant varieties, deer-proofing, boulder excavating, digging, shoveling, wheelbarrow-ing, lots of sweat, and much more.
Today, Fox Farm Flowers is a small, evolving flower farm focused on growing fresh-cut, long-lasting flowers in rhythm with the Maine seasons.
We begin quietly in late winter, when seeds are started in the greenhouse. The first flowers to open are the spring bulbs, followed closely by peonies and early perennial blooms. As summer settles in, the fields fill with hardworking annuals, providing steady color and abundance through the warm months and into early fall. We continue harvesting until the first hard frost (usually in mid-October) brings the season to a close.
Whenever we have flowers blooming, bouquets are available at our farm stand, and we also offer a seasonal CSA for those who want scheduled bouquets throughout the season. In late summer, when the farm is at its most abundant, we open the fields for pick-your-own flowers. We want to share what it’s like to walk through rows of blooms, to slow down, to notice the bees, the colors, and to hand-pick your perfect flowers.
